Scope of this privacy policy
This is the privacy policy of Ashley Furniture Industries, LLC, Ashley Distribution Services, Ltd., Ashley Global Retail, LLC, and their respective affiliates (collectively, "Ashley," "we," "us," or "our"). It describes how and why we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information in our Ashley and Ashley Outlet stores in the United States, as well as on our websites and mobile services. Our privacy policy also describes the choices you have regarding how we collect, use, and share your personal information. Personal information is information that directly or indirectly identifies, describes, relates to, can be reasonably associated with, or linked to a particular consumer or household.
Please note that many Ashley stores are independently owned and operated and have their own privacy policies. In addition, we maintain separate privacy policies for our international operations and may provide different notices about our information practices with respect to certain subsidiaries or affiliates, in which case this privacy policy will not apply.
The information we collect about you
The information we collect about you depends on the context. Generally, it is information that can personally identify you, either on its own or combined with other information.
The following describes the information we collect and how we obtain it.
Information we collect from you
- For registration. When you create an account through one of our websites or mobile services (our "sites"), we collect your name, email address, and phone number. Once registered, we assign you a unique identification number. This number helps us recognize you when you log in.
- For billing and delivery purposes. To process payments and deliver the products you order, we collect and use your payment information. This may include your name, address, phone number, email address, credit or debit card information, and any other relevant information.
- For user-generated content: We may offer you the option to post content that other users can read (for example, product reviews) on our websites or social media. Anyone can read, collect, and use the personal information that accompanies your posts. We are under no obligation to publish your content. If applicable law requires us to remove, delete, or edit your personal information, we will comply with that obligation.
- For contests, sweepstakes, and special offers. By registering, you provide us with your name, email address, and any other necessary information.
- For surveys. We collect information through questionnaires, surveys, and feedback programs. We ask for your consent to use this information when you participate in these surveys and programs.
- During contact with our call centers. We collect your information when you place an order by phone or contact customer service through one of our toll-free numbers.
- Through online chat. We collect your information when you contact us via online chat at www.ashley.com and the Ashley mobile app.
- Personal contact data. We never scan your device to search for your contacts or upload this data. With your consent, we fulfill your requests to collect data about your friends, family, or acquaintances (for example, in "Refer a Friend" campaigns). This feature is intended exclusively for U.S. residents. By using it, you acknowledge and agree that both you and your contacts reside in the U.S. and that you have everyone's consent for us to use their contact information.
Information collected automatically
We also receive information in other ways through technology. Some of this information may be linked to you personally.
Using tracking technologies in your browser and mobile applications. These technologies include cookies, web beacons, tags and scripts, software development kits (or SDKs), and more. We track and store data about how you visit and use our sites. The items we record include:
- Your IP address
- Your location
- Your operating system
- Your browser
- Your browser language
- The address of the referring websites
- The URLs of any page you visit on our websites and mobile applications
- Device identifiers
- Advertising identifiers
- Other usage information
We combine this data with other information we collect about you. For more information about tracking methods on our sites and how to manage them, see the "Cookies and Other Trackers" section below.
If your browser does not accept our cookies, you may not be able to access all or parts of our websites. Because the standard browser-based "Do Not Track" signal is not yet widespread, we do not currently respond to such signals. However, we do respond to the Global Privacy Control.
- With GPS functionality. We can collect information about your location when your device is set to provide location information. For example, your device's GPS signal allows us to show you the nearest Ashley stores. We can recognize the location of a mobile device in stores where we offer free Wi-Fi access or via Bluetooth technology. Through mobile services, Bluetooth technology in our stores allows us to show you nearby products that might interest you, making it easier for you to find products and navigate the store.
- With cameras on the premises. We operate cameras in our stores for security and operational purposes, for example, to improve the design of our stores and provide better service to our customers.
Information we gather from other sources
We receive information about you from other sources to process orders you place with third-party retailers for our products and to help us correct or supplement our records, improve the quality or personalization of our service, and prevent or detect fraud. Examples of information we receive from other sources include:
- Purchase, delivery and address information from third-party retailers who sell our products and then send us product orders to fulfill;
- Delivery information and updated address provided by our carriers;
- Account information from third-party lenders or rent-to-own service providers to allow us to complete your purchases;
